I didn’t meet my word count for Day 12, but the day wasn’t a complete wash. After my morning workout, I revised and edited an article. I also worked on some marketing campaigns for my novella. Those writing-related endeavors took up a good chunk of my time devoted to writing.
I jotted down some notes for two prequels or related stories for Tam Lin: A Modern, Queer Retelling. One will be the story of Tam Lin told from the fae queen’s perspective. The other will be a story about Fergus when he was human and how he became a fae.
For my NaNoWriMo project, I wrote about 500 words, making my total count about 500 words fewer than today’s goal of 20, 004. I’m not disheartened by this, nor do I feel ‘behind.’ I’m over the halfway mark in the novel’s outline and around 47,000 words total.
Hope today went well for you. Happy writing!

Whoa, I wouldn’t feel behind if I were in your position either. That’s a lot of words you’ve got there. Also, good luck on your writing and marketing campaigns!
(Also, I notice you’ve got a theme of rubber duckies going on. It’s amazing.)
Thanks!
Rubber ducks are traditionally what NaNo participants placed in their writing space in public to signal to other participants. It was a fun way to meet other writers.
No problem!
Oh, I see… I never knew that! Thanks for telling me.
It’s a Seattle area thing, not national. 😊
Whoops, didn’t know that either. But you learn something new every day! It’s cool there’s such a strong writing community over there.
