The Traitor Queen by Danielle L. Jensen

Genre: Romantic Fantasy or Fantasy Romance? The odd thing about this fantasy is that there is absolutely no magic or magical creatures. (If you’re looking for a human and not human getting it magically on, this is not the series for you.)
Romantic Subplot? This is a will they or won’t they get back together despite incredible odds against the relationship and one has done effed up bad trope.
Steam? There’s a sizzler in there.
Plot: After betraying her husband and the kingdom of Ithacana, Lara needs to make right and rescue hottie King Aren from her dastardly father. Nice heist vibes. Totally loved the assassin sisters dynamics. I hope a few get their own stories.
Recommend? Yup. Treat yourself. The plot is predictable, but the characters and the world are worth the ride. Start with The Bridge Kingdom first.
