My family was supposed to head over to an island on the Washington coast today for winter break. The weather had other ideas. It was disappointing, but I’d rather my family safe.
C’est la vie. Making plans and events beyond our control getting in the way.
As writers, we tend to forget that.
As humans, we tend to forget that.
Like anything else, it’s not the spoiled plan or how it makes you feel, but your behavior in response to these events that matter. Have your cry. Have your pout. Have a nap. Then, pick yourself up again and make a new, adjusted plan. Resilience.
I’d thought Eastside Hedge Witch a finished project. Turns out it needed more work. In the end, the story will be better for it.
