Author Spotlight: Q & A with Carl F. Brothers
Share
T.J.: Welcome to Author Spotlight where both new and veteran indie authors share a little about themselves and their work. Today's guest is Carl. F Brothers. Hi Carl!
Carl: Hi, TJ. Glad to be here. Thanks for having me.
T.J.: You're welcome. I'm a fan. Let's get into a little about you. Where do you hail from?
Carl: I’m from Philadelphia, USA. However, I’ve spent most of my adult life in Texas where I currently reside. I secretly harbor dreams of making my return back home someday.
T.J.: Awesome. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania myself and lived in the Philly area. A lot of great story tellers come from PA and Texas. What inspired you to become an author?
Carl: My younger brother did. When we were kids I’d draw short stories just for my entertainment. Somehow, he always managed to get his hands on these stories and got a kick out of them. When we were much older he reminded me of a few of his favorites. I guess having an audience, even if it was just one person, gave me the courage to consider writing for a much larger audience.
The idea for my debut publication came to me in a dream. Although I told my brother about it, I really didn’t think much of the dream. Fortunately, he told me I really had something and encouraged me to turn it into a book. That was how the Keepers & Destinies series was born.
T.J.: I agree with your brother. Keepers & Destinies is a great read. If you could meet someone famous living or dead, who would it be and why?
Carl: I’d have to say it would be Jesus of Nazareth. I think he is by far the most fascinating, popular and polarizing figure ever. For more than a few centuries now, virtually every human who’s ever grown into adulthood has had a strong opinion, one way or the other, about his existence. I’d like to talk to him and really hear his message firsthand. I’d follow him everywhere (I know, get in line, right?) just to understand what is fact and what is myth. I guess since I write supernatural thrillers, my choice doesn’t sound too farfetched, does it?
TJ: Tell me a little bit about your upcoming book.
Carl: My upcoming book is the second of the Keepers & Destinies Trilogy. It is called Keepers & Destinies: War. With the commencement of Armageddon, Earth is up for grabs now. The contenders are the angels of Heaven, Lucifer and his demons, a god on Earth and humans, of course. Each side is convinced they are Earth’s salvation, and that the others must be eliminated. Can humanity survive Lucifer’s wiles, the werebeasts that lurk about the Earth, and the Fallen Angels that want nothing more than to rip apart the god that stands in their way? Does the fact that this god, our champion, happens to be a horseman of the apocalypse spell doom for us? Time will tell.
TJ: What would you say sets this novel apart?
Carl: The Keepers & Destinies series features some of the greatest supernatural beings in mythology. It offers that rare blend of celestial, Earthly and Hellish interactions that keep fans of the supernatural verse turning pages. Unlike most stories, shows or movies about these majestic creatures, this tale does these beings justice, giving them an arch fitting of the awe and majesty they command. The portrayal and development of the characters is atop the greatest strengths of the series.
TJ: One last question where and when can we find this novel?
Carl:
The release date for Keepers & Destinies: War is June, 2021. I will be honored for any readers out there to get a copy of Book one of this series ahead of Book two’s release.
