NaNoWriMo Day 10: Writer's Block

Have you ever had a really good dream, but your bodily functions wake you? After you take care of necessities and climb back into bed and you can't quite get comfortable again and you try really hard to get back into that dream and sink into bliss. It keeps you awake because you just can't find that sweet spot and get your brain to start playing the dream movie again.

That happened to me last night. I finally went back to sleep and started dreaming, my alarm went off to get ready for the gym. When, I got back from the gym and settled down to write, I wanted to get myself into that sweet spot of playing the book movie in my head and start dictating what's happening.

Unfortunately, despite plotting what is going to happen. I couldn't "see" the scene. I came up blank. I had it in my head when I quit for the day yesterday, but it wouldn't come.

I tried switching projects. I got about six or seven hundred words in, but there was no way I was going to make my NaNo word count.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to adult tonight and I do have a family I don't like to ignore, so I won't be writing.

I'm not worried about it. I'm going away for a few days with a few friends. (We've all been isolating and we're getting tested before we meet up.) I'll be near a beach. Hopefully the lack of kittens and kids will help me focus.

Hope your day went well. Happy Writing!
