NaNoWriMo Day 17: NaNo Rebel to the Core

A week ago, I had writer's block. I realized why. I had another project in my head (two, actually) and until I get some words down and at least a few notes worked out, Eastside Faerie, my NaNoWriMo project will suffer.

So, today I spent mostly working on Fagan and the Selkie (definitely a place marker, working title). The story is about a young man in the Scottish Highlands, who lost his family to tragic circumstances. The first chapter starts with the death of the last of his siblings, the last of his kin, and Fagan burying him. It's bleak, but the chapter ends with a bit of excitement--a selkie is caught in a trap. From there, Fergus and the tone of the story changes. Hopefully, I won't scare readers away with the sad first chapter.

I'm sure that tomorrow I'll be back in the mood to work on Eastside Faerie.

Hope you're all doing well. Happy writing!
